War :The latest Warhammer Grab Bag is up; this edition explains a number of game mechanics you may have been wondering about.

Home: PS3’s Home is apparently getting a cafe area, which is designed to be a social space for avatars.  (Wait a minute…isn’t all of Home supposed to be a social space for avatars?)  They’ve included some pics, which are impressively unimpressive.

WoW: Mike Schramm over at WoWInsider is calling the latest WoW patch, 3.08, an out-and-out “disaster”.

Funcom is still working on the XBox 360 version of Age of Conan. In an interview with Eurogamer, they weren’t particularly on-fire about this project which, before this, was regarded as imminent. They now say they have a small team working on it, and have now indicated that it’ll be ready at some ill-defined point down the road.Funcom is also making substantial changes to their upcoming MMO The Secret World. This is in response to some lessons learned making Age of Conan. They don’t want to compete with WoW, but want to make a game that is a different kind of MMO.Allakhazam has an interview with Salim “Silius” Grant, the lead designer of Vanguard.  Salim dishes on the upcoming upgrades and content being added to Vanguard which, he says, amounts to a “free expansion“.  SOE has never given away anything like this for free before, so this is good news for this historically troubled MMO.  It may also be a sign that they recognize that you can’t actually sell an expansion to an MMO that no one is playing.
