GigaMedia, a provider of broadband Internet-based value-added service and content in Taiwan, will launch HoLiC Onine, a MMORPG (massively multi-player online role-playing game) developed by South Korea-based Mgame, in January 2009, and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (Warhammer), a MMORPG produced by US-based Electronic Arts (EA), in February 2009, according to the Chinese-language newspaper Commercial Times.

War Town is intended for operating MMORPGs, while GigaMedia's original game portal Fun Town will shift its operating focus to casual, sports and entertainment games, the paper noted.GigaMedia will have its newly established game portal War Town operate the two games, with HoLiC Online to be free for play and WAR chargeable based on a monthly fee of about NT$450 (US$13.6), the paper indicated.
